Gaining skills in knowledge exchange and mobilization (KxM) can help you increase the impact of your research.

Research to Impact: Skills, practices and tools for KxM is an eight-week training program designed for members of the UBC community — including faculty, post-doctoral fellows, graduate students, and researchers — whose research aims to create social impact through informing practice and policy and/or expanding public conversation.

Applications close November 22, 2023. You will be notified of your acceptance into the program by December 1, 2023.

Are you currently involved with a research project or on a research team?

This course incorporates opportunities to practice and apply KxM tools and resources to your research. Your learning experience will be enhanced if you are able to use the course activities to advance the KxM strategies that will be relevant for your research area.  If you do not have your own relevant research example, a case study will be provided to you.  

Are you willing to work through a relevant research example or case study over the course of the eight-week program?
This may include prior training, courses or workshops in KxM, or experience conducting KxM activities on a research team.

 


 

Attending the course in its entirety entails attending all weekly sessions and completing all course activities (approximate time commitment = 5 hours/week). Completion will result in the provision of a certificate. 

Can you commit to attending this program in its entirety?
In some cases, we may be willing to accept partial attendance.
