UBC recognizes its responsibility to make academic knowledge more accessible, understandable and actionable. The university strives to be an engaged partner in collaborative research programs and in the sharing of research outputs that enrich the lives of local and global communities.
Support through the VP, Research & Innovation portfolio includes:
- Support Programs to Advance Research Capacity (SPARC) reviews and supports the development of knowledge mobilization and translation plans in Tri-agency grant applications.
- An introduction to the foundations of knowledge mobilization is available through UBC’s online self-paced course.
- VPRI collaborates with UBC Community Engagement to fund community-university partnerships that advance collaborative research, teaching, and learning for the benefit of communities across BC through the Community-University Engagement Support Fund.
- Next summer, the Office of Research Prizes and Awards will launch the Engaged Research Award to recognize UBC faculty conducting impactful research with their community partners.
